InnoCentive Issues Third Annual Video Challenge to Solver Network

Prizes of $10,000 USD to Be Awarded to Solvers With Most Visually Compelling Messages on How They Are Changing the World

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwire - August 31, 2009) - InnoCentive, Inc., the global open innovation marketplace, today announced the launch of its third annual marketing video Challenge, asking its community of 180,000 Solvers around the globe to create videos focused on the theme, "Unlimited Possibilities: InnoCentive Solvers Changing the World." InnoCentive will select three winning videos that best communicate to the public how they too can make a difference by participating in open innovation. The first place winner will receive $7,500 USD. Second and third places will be awarded $1,500 USD and $1,000 USD respectively. All winning videos will be used in future InnoCentive marketing campaigns.

Video entries should demonstrate, in a persuasive, innovative and entertaining way, the concept that a single person, a single Solver, can change the world through action. Possible submission themes could explore how winning solutions can change the lives of people around the world; the power of diversity among Solvers -- how solutions can come from unexpected industries, from anyone; or the promise of open innovation to drive public sector and non-profit innovation. All video Challenge entries should be no longer than 30 seconds, submitted by December 28, 2009 and meet other technical specifications as outlined in the official Challenge posting.

"Our Solvers have proven to be our best champions for expanding our Solver network," said Dwayne Spradlin, CEO of InnoCentive. "They are passionate about helping us to change the world and influence the lives of people everywhere by applying creativity and intelligence to solve today's most critical and wide-spread global problems."

In 2008 and 2009 InnoCentive posted marketing video Challenges, awarding two winners each year. The video finalists and winners of 2008 focused on recruiting InnoCentive Solvers. The video finalists and winners of 2009 aimed to increase the number of InnoCentive Seekers.
