Innovotech to Present bioFILM PA 'TM' Technology at North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference, November 2-5, 2006

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 23, 2006) - Innovotech (TSX VENTURE:IOT) will present its bioFILM PA™ antimicrobial sensitivity technology at the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference in Denver on November 2-5, 2006. Dr Merle Olson, Research Director for Innovotech, and a biofilm expert, will conduct the presentation.

"Cystic fibrosis lung infections are probably the most recognized of all microbial biofilm diseases." says Dr Olson, "These infections cause untold hardship to patients, and grief to physicians due to their chronic nature and their tendency for bacterial resistance. This conference will serve as an introduction of our technology to the worldwide cystic fibrosis community."

About bioFILM PA™

bioFILM PA™ is distinct from other antimicrobial sensitivity tests in that the organism(s) that are tested are in a biofilm state, a natural state of chronic infections. Currently, no other test has this capability. Secondly, bioFILM PA™ uses single and combination antibiotics, recognizing that combination treatment is becoming more prevalent, despite the fact that there are no commercial laboratory tests to provide guidance for combination treatment. bioFILM PA™ provides this guidance.
