Inphi Announces Production Availability of Industry Leading TIA/LIA for Next-Generation 100G Networks

Inphi's IN2841TA Delivers Best Sensitivity, High Overload With Lowest Power in the Industry

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 11, 2012) - Inphi Corporation (NYSE: IPHI), a leading provider of high-speed, mixed signal semiconductor solutions for the communications and computing markets, today announced the production availability of the IN2841TA, a 100G transimpedance amplifier (TIA)/limiting amplifier (LIA) that offers the industry's best sensitivity, high overload and lowest power consumption. Interoperable with Inphi's iPHY™ 100G CMOS PHY/SerDes ICs, the IN2841TA enables the deployment of next-generation 100G CFP and CFP2 modules to address bandwidth bottlenecks in next-generation data center and communications infrastructures.

Demand for more bandwidth and faster, always-on access now is requiring carriers and data centers to scale their networks from 10G to 100G. Inphi's IN2841TA helps meet this demand by offering the low power and high-performance necessary to support these networks. Based on an innovative TIA architecture, the IN2841TA delivers the best sensitivity, high overload and the lowest power consumption in the industry. Inphi's IN2841TA is used as a key enabling technology for next-generation 100G-LR4, ER4 and OTU4 optical modules.

"To meet the demand for higher bandwidth driven by the pervasive use of mobile devices and cloud computing, carriers and data centers are scaling their networks to 100G," said Loi Nguyen, vice president, Networking, Communications and Multi-Market at Inphi. "Inphi's new TIA is a critical component in the advancements towards next-generation 100G networks."

"100G TIA and CMOS PHY/SerDes technology is now available as a platform level solution," said Daryl Inniss, vice president and practice leader, Components at Ovum. "The industry is on the path to providing key enabling technologies for 100G networks."

"With the perpetually increasing data quantity and data rate trends, the need to upgrade bandwidths and to implement 100G links is imminent. Thanks to the high-performance Inphi IN2841TA, we are able to offer 100G Receiver Optical Sub-Assemblies (ROSAs) with the best sensitivity and high overload to enable next-generation CFP2 modules," said Sven Krueger, vice president product management at Cube Optics.
