Inphi Announces Sampling of Second Generation DDR4 Register and Data Buffer

Pushing the Limits With Latest Technology to Increase Memory Speed and Capacity for Next-Generation Data Centers

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 11, 2015) -  Inphi Corporation (NYSE: IPHI), a leading provider of high-speed, mixed-signal semiconductor solutions for the communications, computing and data center markets, today announced the sampling of its second generation DDR4 registering clock driver and data buffer. Leading the industry on JEDEC compliance, power efficiency and overall performance, Inphi's DDR4 register and data buffer will allow end users to run DDR4 up to 3200MT/s with increased capacity while consuming less power than previous generations.

"This milestone is a testimony to Inphi's continued DDR4 memory leadership," said Vinod Lakhani, Inphi's vice president, Memory and Storage Interconnect. "Our second generation DDR4 enables us to extend our market leadership for upcoming server platforms, bringing new features and valued products to next-generation data centers worldwide. The DDR3 to DDR4 server transition will continue in the coming years. With its continued investment in DDR4, Inphi is poised for growth and leadership in the memory market."

Performance and power efficiency are most critical to customers, who are constantly demanding faster memory speed and greater capacity, as all of these have significant impact on how they serve their end users. Inphi's latest DDR4 registering clock driver and data buffer are intended for enterprise data centers, where there are large deployments of high-performance servers and high-capacity storage systems. These new devices leveraged Inphi existing leadership and expertise in networking serdes and brought in networking features to DDR4 to enable high performance at a low power profile. The improved features will enable increased margin on modules using Inphi's register and data buffer to obtain higher capacity.
