Inphi Delivers New High-Performance 40 Gbps Coherent Technology

New Offering Designed to Provide Low Noise, High Dynamic Range and Low Power Consumption to Better Enable Cloud Computing

TURIN, ITALY--(Marketwire - September 20, 2010) - Inphi Corporation, a fabless provider of high-speed analog semiconductor solutions for the communications and computing markets, today unveiled its latest 40 Gbps coherent solutions at the European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC) 2010 in Turin, Italy. Designed to address bandwidth bottlenecks in networks, increase throughput and decrease latency in computing environments, the latest solutions help the rollout of next generation communications infrastructure and the build-out of 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps networks to help pave the way for the continued evolution of cloud computing.

"The demand for 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps coherent is rapidly growing. In fact, we see 40 Gbps coherent as the fastest growing 40 Gbps technology over the next several years and expect port shipments to ultimately surpass all the other long distance 40 Gbps technologies," said Daryl Inniss, Vice President, Communications Components, Ovum.

Sampling today, the Inphi 1352TA is a dual, differential linear transimpedance/variable-gain amplifier (TIA/VGA) for 40 Gbps coherent detection receiver applications and is fully pad compatible with Inphi's market leading, 100 Gbps coherent TIA, the 2850TA. The 1352TA is designed to provide 40 Gbps coherent receiver customers the ability to deliver excellent Optical Signal-To-Noise Ratio (OSNR) performance over a wide optical input dynamic range and to leverage their R&D efforts in 100 Gbps coherent receiver development to quickly bring to market 40 Gbps receiver products. The 1352TA is also designed to provide low noise, high dynamic range, and low power consumption.

"We were excited to work with Inphi TIAs to develop 40G and 100G coherent receivers," said G. Ferris Lipscomb, VP of Marketing at NeoPhotonics. "Inphi's 1352TA has enabled us to deliver a 40G coherent receiver that helps to satisfy our customers' requirements for low noise, high linearity and wide optical input power range."

"Bandwidth demands are forcing carriers to migrate from 10 Gbps to 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps networks. Yet, as 40 Gbps networks are built out, carriers are challenged to overcome the dispersive nature of fiber and to achieve longer distances for reduced OPEX. Inphi's 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps coherent technology is designed to enable carriers to overcome these challenges and deliver cloud computing," said Loi Nguyen, Vice President of Networking, Communications and Multi-Market Products at Inphi.

Company Also Announces the Availability of the Inphi 2811DZ Mach-Zehnder Driver and 2850TA TIA
In addition, Inphi also announced today the immediate availability of its first generation products for 40 Gbps Dual-Polarization Binary Phase Shift Keying (DPBPSK) and coherent detection, the Inphi 2811DZ and 2850TA. The Inphi 2811DZ is a Mach Zhender differential modulator driver and the Inphi 2850TA is a dual-channel transimpedance amplifier. Together, they provide optical networking OEMs a complete transmit and receive high-speed analog solutions for ultra-long haul and sub-marine 40 Gbps links.

Availability
The Inphi 1352TA is available in sample quantities and the Inphi 2811DZ and 2850TA are available in volume quantity today. For more information, visit Inphi's Booth #367 at ECOC 2010 in Turin, Italy on September 20-22 or visit www.inphi.com.
