Instart Logic Announces $100M Performance Upgrade Program for Akamai Customers

Akamai CDN Customers Can Upgrade to Instart Logic and Experience the Significant Performance Improvements From Software-Defined Application Delivery

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2014) - Instart Logic, the Cloud Application Delivery Service for performance-obsessed organizations, announced a new performance upgrade program to help e-businesses seeking faster web performance. The new program eliminates the primary barrier to adopting Instart Logic's software-defined application delivery (SDAD) solution -- Akamai's contract "lock-in." Instart Logic will fund the buyout of the existing Akamai contract for eligible program participants, up to an aggregate total of $100 million in contract value. Companies that upgrade can typically expect to see immediate 30 percent-plus application performance improvements, especially for end users on mobile devices or wireless connections. The "RIP Akamai" offer is effective immediately for all Akamai customers.

"As the holiday shopping season approaches, many companies are preparing for the increased performance expectations of shoppers. CDN technology is an antiquated approach that doesn't help mobile shoppers using wireless access," said Manav Mital, CEO, Instart Logic. "This program helps customers by removing the primary barrier to upgrading their performance."

"RIP Akamai" participants will join the growing ranks of performance-obsessed marquee web companies that have abandoned their CDNs to move to SDAD on Instart Logic. "Prior to Bonfaire's acquisition by Moda Operandi, we used Instart Logic for 100 percent of our traffic. Based on that experience, and the fact that Moda Operandi's soon-to-be-launched new site is a visually rich and image-heavy site, we decided to switch all of our traffic from Akamai to Instart Logic, including our fast-growing mobile traffic," says Keiron McCammon, CTO, Moda Operandi, Inc. "Instart Logic offers much better performance as well as unique technology features that boost user engagement."

As software continues to eat the web performance world, hardware-driven CDNs are increasingly losing favor among companies that care about consistently improving web performance across diverse network environments and device types. This is especially true for companies that serve users over wireless networks such as Wi-Fi and 3G/4G. Instart Logic's Cloud Application Delivery Service was built from the ground up as an end-to-end solution to uniquely handle infinite device diversity, wireless network congestion and wide performance variability in the last mile. The first SDAD offering on the market, Instart Logic enables the ultra-fast performance, control and extensibility required by companies in e-commerce, media and SaaS that are serious about application performance and dedicated to innovative application delivery.
