Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario Elects 2008-2009 Governing Council

Council membership includes strong regional representation, including new Chair

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 20, 2008) - The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario announced the election of its 2008-2009 governing Council at its Annual General Meeting on June 19. Nine new members were either elected or re-elected to the Council and Gerald Mills, FCA, of London Ontario, became the new Council Chair.

The 2008 - 2009 Executive Group members are:

- Council Finance Committee Chair - Richard Johnston, FCA

- Council Bylaws Review Committee Chair - Bonnie Foster, FCA

- Council Membership Committee Chair - John Friday, FCA

The newly elected member of the Institute's 16-member governing Council for a two-year term is:

Members re-elected to the Institute's Council for a two-year term commencing 2008-2009 are:

- Garry Foster, FCA, Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, Toronto

The other seven elected members of Council, whose two-year terms continue until the end of the 2008-2009 year, are:

The Ontario government also appoints four public representative positions to the Council. They are D'Arcy Delamere, Tim Kennish, Dina Palozzi and Dr. James Young.
