Integrated Media Management and Star Micronics Develop Platform Top Cover for FVP-10 Printer for Use With Canon imageFORMULA Check Transports

Accessory Allows Simultaneous Bank Deposit Receipt Printing and Check Scanning

EDISON, NJ--(Marketwire - Aug 25, 2011) - Star Micronics America today announced that it has developed a platform-top cover accessory that allows financial institutions to use their FVP-10 thermal printers to generate customer receipts for check deposits while simultaneously scanning those same checks with check transport equipment from Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of digital imaging solutions.

Designed specifically for use in bank and credit union branches, the accessory holds either the Canon imageFORMULA CR-80 or CR-50 compact check transport devices securely in place atop the printer. In addition to saving time by enabling tellers to accomplish check-scanning and receipt printing in a single step rather than two consecutive ones, it conserves valuable counter space at teller windows. The FVP-10 has an extremely small footprint, and the platform top cover accommodates it perfectly.

The platform top cover concept was created at the request of Integrated Media Management, a Star Micronics VAR partner who services the financial industry. "At Star Micronics, we remain highly attuned to the needs and requests of our VAR partners and their end-user customers," said Christophe Naasz, marketing director. "We are proud to have been able to assist Integrated Media Management and its financial industry customers in helping banks and credit unions to streamline check processing with an easy-to-use solution that integrates receipt-generation with Canon check scanning."

Naasz added that the FVP-10 offers end-users an array of attractive benefits customers have come to expect from Star Micronics, including a convenient front-loading configuration, onboard USB, and receipt compression for paper-saving. It generates receipts at an ultra-high print speed of 250mm per second and can support up to seven pounds of accessories on its top. To learn more, visit
