CHAMPAIGN, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 4, 2006 -- When a severe thunderstorm hit Champaign, Ill., one Sunday evening in April, a power outage and roadblocks forced Christie Clinic to close its Windsor primary care satellite facility for three days. Instead of canceling all scheduled patient appointments, the clinic staff was treating patients the next morning at a temporary site in the main clinic building four miles across town, thanks to InteGreat's IC-Chart®, an electronic health records (EHR) system. The Windsor clinic staff set up exam rooms and moved PCs, telephones and other equipment to an empty fourth floor space in the main building. Patients requiring acute medical services were instructed to go to the temporary site. Christie Clinic also enlisted local media to provide community updates.
