Intelleflex CEO Joins Safeway, Welch Foods and Other Executives on Food Logistics Magazine Editorial Advisory Board

Food Industry Experts to Address Global Quality and Safety Concerns in the Food Supply Chain

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - Mar 6, 2012) - Intelleflex, a leading provider of on-demand data visibility solutions, today announced CEO Peter Mehring has joined a respected group of food growers, retailers, logistics and transportation executives on the Food Logistics Magazine's 2012 editorial advisory board. Spanning academia, manufacturing, regulatory affairs, retail, and supply chain, the appointed board also includes industry experts from C.H. Robinson, Georgia Tech's Integrated Food Chain Center, McDermott Will & Emery LLP, Safeway, Inc. and Welch Foods.

As CEO of Intelleflex, Mr. Mehring brings extensive experience in engineering, operations and general management at emerging companies and large enterprises. Mehring, with deep domain knowledge in temperature and condition monitoring and track and trace solutions, will provide invaluable insight and analysis in helping to shape the publication's editorial direction in 2012.

"The editorial advisory board will assist in guiding our editorial focus and help us keep our finger on the pulse of the industry, which is undergoing so many dynamic changes," said Lara Sowinski, editor-in-chief, Food Logistics. "The editorial focus of the publication will take a more global view this year. Import and export activity is stretching the food supply chain farther: raw materials are being sourced in new and challenging markets, while U.S. companies' food products are becoming more popular in foreign markets. At the same time, risk and compliance issues, such as tracking and traceability, are high on the list of topics that Food Logistics will cover in 2012."

Intelleflex XC3 Technology™ RFID readers and tags, provide the food industry with actionable data to drive informed decisions on perishable product shipments, inventory management, and first-expired-first-out (FEFO) inventory management to reduce shrink due to improper temperature management by 50 percent and improve delivered freshness. Intelleflex recently documented a case study on the impact of temperature on the freshness and quality of fruit from field to fork.

"I am excited to join this group of industry executives on the Food Logistics Advisory Board and look forward to sharing real-world experiences based on Intelleflex's interaction with food producers, logistics service providers, and retail grocers and food service companies around the world," said Mehring. "Intelleflex, working with our partners, is helping to improve food safety, traceability and delivered freshness, while reducing post-harvest waste, resulting in a solution that often pays for itself in a single harvest."
