Inter Fonction Will Invest Over $800,000 to Support its Expansion and Augment its Service Offering

SHERBROOKE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 27, 2016) - Increasingly known under the trademark Kadrium Design, Inter Fonction Ltd., a manufacturing company specializing in producing customized high-end aluminium and glass doors, is preparing to invest over $800,000 in equipment. This investment project aligns with an expansion dynamic that follows on the heels of the purchase of a new building in July 2015, where all of the operations will be relocated in May 2017.

This investment project includes a hardening furnace from Italy. This equipment will be accompanied by various handling, preparation and lifting devices that will ensure production efficiency. The equipment will be installed by the end of 2016 at 175 Oleg-Stanek St., Sherbrooke. Ms. Johanne Tousignant, President of Inter Fonction, maintains that the new purchase will enable the company to conquer new markets, better serve North American clients, reduce delivery times, meet industry standards and improve worker safety. Through this project, Inter Fonction is consolidating its operations in the glazing industry, positioning itself competitively and enabling regional companies to develop their products.

Inter Fonction has been able to rely on support from the two levels of government. On one hand, the financial assistance provided by Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions involves a repayable contribution of $300,000 for purchasing equipment. "The manufacturing SMEs of Estrie are facing considerable challenges. A number of them are working tirelessly to boost their productivity and explore new markets. Inter Fonction and many other SMEs are tremendous drivers behind the creation of wealth and high-quality jobs for our communities and their residents. And when they sell their products, at home as well as abroad, our companies contribute to the country's prosperity. The Government of Canada is therefore pleased to help Inter Fonction and contribute to its growth." stated Mr. Denis Paradis, M.P. for Brome-Missisquoi on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.

On the other hand, Inter Fonction is receiving a $450,000 loan from Investissement Québec: "Our purpose is to ensure that investment projects are carried out and help create wealth in all regions. To do so, we provide a lever that enables entrepreneurs' projects to come to fruition and, thereby, encourage companies to aim for innovation. Inter Fonction's project aligns perfectly with this, and we are proud to have been able to participate," states Mr. Pierre Gabriel Côté, President and CEO of Investissement Québec. "Thanks to its ingenuity and determination, Inter Fonction has established an impressive client base and earned a solid reputation that goes far beyond the region's borders. It owes its success in large part to its ability to innovate and adapt to changing demand, and the Québec government is proud to have been able to contribute to its success," concluded Luc Fortin, MNA for Sherbrooke and Minister responsible for the Estrie region.

Inter Fonction also draws on the support of other partners like the Business Development Bank of Canada, the National Bank and Sherbrooke Innopole. For Josée Fortin, Director General of Sherbrooke Innopole: "The growth projects announced today by Inter Fonction speak of a double success - that visibly continues to unfold, that of a Sherbrooke manufacturing flagship that has successfully come through the always crucial business transfer stage, while committing to the innovation route in order to stay on the cutting edge of technology and trends in a highly competitive industry. We are pleased to have supported the management team in its succession process and then relocation process."
