Interactive Data Selected as Primary Evaluations Source for Australian Security Exchange Collateral

Interactive Data to Provide Full Coverage of Austraclear Money Market Securities to Clearstream

NEW YORK, NY and HONG KONG, CHINA and SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwired - Oct 29, 2014) - Interactive Data, a leading provider of independent evaluated pricing and reference data services, today announced that it will be the primary source of money market evaluations to Clearstream, who have been selected as the collateral management platform supporting the new Australian Security Exchange (ASX) Collateral Service.

ASX Collateral is a centralised collateral management service that leverages technology provided by Clearstream to facilitate the allocation and optimisation of collateral across an array of bilateral agreements and counterparties, providing significant efficiencies and benefits to customers. Interactive Data is providing valuations of all Austraclear securities to Clearstream in support of the ASX Collateral Service.

"'With new regulations such as Dodd Frank, Basel III and EMIR placing a focus on collateral management, the importance of risk management departments in the maintenance of market stability and resiliency, as well as enhancing transparency has never been greater", said Dan Videtto, President Asia Pacific at Interactive Data. "We are delighted to have been selected to provide evaluated pricing for this new project. With full coverage of all Australian money market instruments, Interactive Data is well positioned to serve this market."

"The Interactive Data evaluations will further increase the robustness of our collateral management offering as Clearstream performs a daily mark-to-market valuation of the collateral securities and instructs margin calls to keep the collateral value in line with the underlying exposure," said Stefan Lepp, Member of the Executive Board and Head of Global Securities Financing at Clearstream. "As members of the Liquidity Alliance, Clearstream and ASX will benefit from this service that can be extended to the other member companies around the globe."

"'ASX customers know they can trust ASX Collateral to value securities used as collateral and to take the appropriate action to reflect that valuation. Interactive Data is the pre-eminent price source for Australian fixed income securities. So we are delighted that Interactive Data will be the priority price source for ASX Collateral, including for the $2.5 billion of collateral currently under management by the service," said Andrew White, General Manager, Settlement Services at ASX.
