Interactive Supercomputing Named a CRN Emerging Tech Vendor

Star-P Partner Program Yields High Reseller Margins Making Scientists, Analysts and Engineers More Productive Using High Performance Computers

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwire - June 30, 2008) - Interactive Supercomputing Inc. (ISC) has been selected by Everything Channel as a CRN Emerging Tech vendor for its Star-P® high performance computing software. CRN's Emerging Tech list captures companies that are delivering high margins for solution providers with innovative and easy-to-use technology that dramatically expands the market for cluster solutions.

Star-P delivers interactive parallel computing power to the desktop. It enables faster prototyping and problem solving across a range of biomedical, financial and scientific research applications. Star-P enables scientists, analysts and engineers to easily code algorithms using their familiar desktop environment, automatically transforming the application to run on parallel servers and clusters. It eliminates the need to re-program the applications in complex languages such as C or FORTRAN, or use MPI (message passing interface) to run in parallel.

The company's Star-P Solution Partner Program enables VARs, independent software vendors, systems integrators and consultants to combine other HPC products and services with Star-P to deliver a complete solution to customers while maximizing their return on investment.

Star-P Solution Partners benefit from a close working relationship with ISC. The program helps partners by funding lead generation campaigns and by offering selling, marketing and technical tools, along with support services, to assist in customizing solutions for customers.

According to the CRN Emerging Tech Survey, the top reasons solution providers add emerging technologies include, the technology is superior to other products in the market segment; the technology complements a solution providers' existing practice areas; emerging vendors provide better services opportunities; emerging vendors pay better attention to partners; emerging vendors offer higher margins; customers want alternative product choices; and emerging vendors have better joint marketing programs. In addition, 61 percent of solutions providers surveyed plan to increase the number of emerging technology vendors they partner with in the next 12 months.

"New and innovative vendor partners can help spur profitable new ideas that Solution Providers can use to build revenue and customer loyalty, and the CRN Emerging Tech list is where Solution Providers go to find these vendors," said Robert C. Demarzo, senior vice president and editorial director, Everything Channel editorial.

Vendors who make the CRN Emerging Tech list must have an established solution provider program and formal guidelines for recruiting channel partners. They must demonstrate that its direct sales mix is trending down as evidenced by the company's revenue history, a channel positive or channel neutral strategy for internal sales compensation, and not be a dominant market share player. Final selection to the Emerging Technology list was made at the discretion of the CRN editorial team after a review of the submitted information and conversations with current or targeted partners.

"ISC is building our company from the ground up with a channel-centric sales model, which is an important criteria for our partners," said David Gibson, ISC's vice president of sales. "The Star-P software platform allows our partners to engage with new accounts, as well as new departments within existing accounts, to drive a new stream of profit versus other commodity offerings. It's a selling tool that helps partners engage much earlier in the buying cycle with stronger value-add based selling as opposed to coming to the opportunity late in the cycle where often price is the only factor."
