Interface Masters Technologies Introduces Dual Port 10GBASE-T Copper Server Adapter Bypass Cards

The Niagara 32710-TX Intel Based NIC Provides High-Availability Failover for Inline Networking Appliances

SAN JOSE CA--(Marketwire - Mar 4, 2013) - Interface Masters Technologies, an industry leader and innovator in networking solutions, announces a brand new 10GBASE-T Server Adapter Card that is designed to protect Inline Networking Servers, including WAN Acceleration, UTM, IPS Systems, and Security and Monitoring Appliances such as Firewalls, IDS, IPS systems, and Analysis Probes. The Niagara 32710-TX server adapter is a Dual Port 10GBASE-T Copper NIC supporting failover and Network bypass and is the newest member of the established Network Interface Cards with Bypass product line from Interface Masters which includes 2, 4 and 6 port 1G, 10G, and copper and fiber variations.

The new Niagara 32710-TX NIC follows the Niagara 32710 10Gb fiber bypass NIC to complete the dual port 10G bypass offering and provides PCI-e Gen 2 (5 GT/s) support and 100/1000/10Gbps auto-negotiation capabilities. The Niagara 32710-TX also offers specialized features including IPSec & MACsec Security Engines, DCB with IEEE 1588 time stamping at 12.5W operation and power management.

The Niagara 32710-TX low-profile, dual port 10GBASE-T server adapter card with bypass is designed for high-availability server applications that demand premium performance and maximum uptime. The bypass feature, upon power failure or power loss, allows network traffic to continue by re-routing traffic from the transmit port directly to the receive port. This creates a closed loop that bypasses the down appliance, ensuring that network uptime is maintained.

"Interface Masters has been a leading innovator in the 10GBASE-T market and this industry first bypass server adapter will enable our customers to take advantage of the rapid market transition to 10GBASE-T media and address this untapped demand," stated Ben Askarinam, founder and CEO of Interface Masters Technologies. "The 32710-TX NIC has been designed for Inline networking appliances and leverages the latest 10Gb Ethernet copper technology to address the highest performance standards of the enterprise, security and datacenter markets."

Niagara 32710-TX provides features that are essential in today's data centers:

  • PCI-e x8 (Gen 2) compatible
  • Peak bandwidth 40 Gb/s in each direction on PCI Express bus
  • Passive Network Bypass which is essential during power loss or software failure
  • Programmable "Fail-Closed" or "Fail-Open" while in the power-off state
  • Link Fault Detection (LFD) support
  • Programmable independent mode to function as a dual port 10GE Copper Card
