Intergraph(R) CAESAR II(R) Grant to Vestfold University in Norway for Mechanical Engineering Education

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Apr 18, 2013) - Intergraph has provided a CAESAR II grant to Vestfold University College in Tonsberg, Norway to be used in mechanical engineering education for the school's construction technology course. The software helps students understand the theory of calculation-based methods of analysis of stresses for practical dimensioning of piping systems. They can learn how to complete an analysis of design for different constructions according to the demands of fluids, process equipment, and other exterior conditions, including strain and flexibility according to code ANSI B31.3.

Students who have mastered CAESAR II often have greater opportunities of landing interesting and challenging jobs. "Using a modern engineering tool like CAESAR II gives the students extra knowledge and value in the labor market," explained Roy Rasumussen, head of the Department of Technology at the university. "This provides the students an extra value in their education."

Founded in 1855 as Horten Tekniskeskole, the engineering department in 1991 merged with Tonsberg Maritime College and then in 1994 became a part of Vestfold University College. With 900 students, the school provides degree programs in computer technology, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, micro-nano-system technology and maritime electro-automation.
