Intermap Completely Remaps State Of California In 3D

DENVER, COLORADO--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 22, 2005) - Intermap Technologies Corp. (TSX:IMP) announced today that it has completed the data acquisition of the entire state of California under its NEXTMap USA program. California, having a size of over 400,000 square kilometers, is the largest state acquired thus far as Intermap continues its plan to digitally map the entire continental United States and Hawaii in three dimensions. Acquisition of the entire states of Florida and Mississippi has also been completed, as well as portions of many other states, bringing the Company's total coverage to date to over 1,000,000 square kilometers, more than 15 percent of the U.S.A.

"This is a significant milestone for our NEXTMap USA program. California will be a showpiece in this program as it is a visually stunning state and one of the world's largest economies," commented Brian Bullock, Intermap's President and CEO. "Intermap has set an unprecedented standard for national mapping by completing our largest contiguous area acquisition to date with accuracies verified to 1 meter or better - a major differentiator from other mapping products. This level of accuracy is essential in order to be of value to flood and other environmental hazard usage, utility placement and other commercial enterprise applications and of course the guidelines specified by the intelligent vehicle initiatives that are underway in the U.S. and Europe. The momentum from this milestone will accelerate our efforts to complete our acquisition of the remainder of the U.S."

Intermap's product offerings under the NEXTMap USA program include terrain elevation data as well as orthorectified radar imagery. Datasets for many areas of California are now available for purchase through Intermap's online data store, with entire datasets scheduled to be available for purchase later this year. In addition to its standard data products, Intermap provides orthorectified color imagery products upon request.

According to Jae Hill, LADWP (Los Angeles Department of Water & Power) Pacifica Services project manager, "The NEXTMap California digital terrain model (DTM) provided unparalleled accuracy at a lower cost than any of our other options. Not only did this data exceed our needs and expectations for watershed resources management, but the client service was equally amazing."

Intermap has already delivered data to a number of buyers including county governments, municipalities and commercial buyers. The Company expects the buying pattern to follow the model established by its NEXTMap Britain program with lead buyers purchasing data for engineering, planning and environmental management. Sales in Britain have now passed the US$12 million mark and include over 1,000 buyers to date.
