The International Association of Business Communicators Announces 2013-2014 International Executive Board Officers

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 26, 2013) -  The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has announced the names of the incoming 2013-2014 international executive board (IEB). The new members of the IEB were approved by current board members and the selection was ratified by delegates of IABC's chapters and regions during the Annual General Meeting held during the IABC World Conference in New York.

The international executive board is derived of IABC members from all over the world and serves as the governing body of IABC, representing the interests of IABC's membership-at-large. A new board and chair are chosen each year. Robin McCasland is the incoming chair of the IEB, taking over from Kerby Meyers.

"IABC has been my professional home and its members my extended family for more than 20 years. I've gained so much from my IABC affiliation over the past two decades, and it's been a privilege to serve in a variety of local, regional and international volunteer leadership roles during that time. IABC has been challenged over the past few months, but it is strong, resilient and poised to accomplish great things in the coming years. I am humbled to have been granted the opportunity to help change the trajectory of IABC," said McCasland. "I'm looking forward to this board term and the opportunity to give back to the association that means so much to me."

The international executive board develops the strategic plan and direction for the association under the guidance of bylaws agreed upon by IABC membership. They meet regularly throughout the year to address new initiatives, determine and set policy, and review and approve financial and spending decisions.

"It has been my pleasure to have served with this year's board, which has accomplished so much during this transitional year," said Kerby Meyers, outgoing chair of IABC's international executive board. "IABC is instrumental to the future of communications, and it has been an honor to serve the membership as we navigate the challenges that face our profession. I am confident that Robin has what it takes to continue to move the organization in the right direction."
