VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 13, 2008) - INTERNATIONAL BARYTEX RESOURCES LTD. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:IBX) is pleased to provide an update on the Shituru project located near the town of Likasi in Katanga Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The Shituru Mining Corporation (SMCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Societe Nationale Electricite Limited (SNEL) for the supply of 30 Megawatts of power to the processing facility being planned in the Feasibility Study being carried out.
