International Datacasting Corporation Announces Radio Project With The Radio Network in New Zealand

Attn: Business/High-Tech Editors

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 9, 2008) - International Datacasting Corporation, (TSX:IDC), a global leader in providing advanced solutions for the distribution of broadband multimedia content via satellite, announced today that IDC, in partnership with its NZ distributor AVW, has been selected by The Radio Network, (TRN), in New Zealand, to modernize the broadcaster's satellite distribution network using IDC's SuperFlex Pro Audio satellite products.

The Radio Network consists of 128 stations operating across 26 markets in New Zealand. The Radio Network is a wholly owned subsidiary of Australian Radio Network (ARN). The shareholders of ARN are Clear Channel Communications, USA and APN News & Media for Australia.

The Radio Network's stations include Easy Mix, Flava, Coast, ZM, Radio Sport, Newstalk ZB, Classic Hits and Radio Hauraki. Radio Hauraki has evolved from the pirate radio era in New Zealand when three decades ago, a group of radio pirates ignored government warnings and started broadcasting illegally from the Hauraki Gulf. Since that time, Radio Hauraki has become a classic rock music institution broadcasting in 15 markets across New Zealand.

TRN selected the SuperFlex Pro Audio suite from AVW and IDC to implement a distribution system for its network throughout New Zealand. The DVB-S2 IP-based satellite network supports the integration of live satellite feeds with automated local program and ad insertion capabilities which will enable "New Zealand's market leader for radio advertising solutions" to move forward in the market.

The SuperFlex SFX2102F receiver purchased by TRN provides MPEG4 High Efficiency - Advanced Audio Coding (HE-AAC) audio decoding that will ensure the highest quality of audio performance is available to all stations in the network.

IDC's New Zealand-based distributor, AVW, will implement the new uplink system and has been factory trained to provide first level, in-country support on the SuperFlex Pro Audio system backed up by IDC's comprehensive Priority 247 Support organization.

"The selection of our SuperFlex Pro Audio products by The Radio Network is a great endorsement of the product. We are proud to have them as a customer. Our development groups have worked long and hard to ensure that the SuperFlex Pro Audio products meet the needs of the world's leading broadcasters. The IP network fundamentals of this system mean that it easily integrates into modern broadcast environments and will migrate easily to meet the future needs of our customers," said Ron Clifton, President and CEO of IDC.

"At AVW, we are excited about our role in the implementation of this new satellite distribution infrastructure for The Radio Network. This solution is well supported locally by AVW and we have great support from IDC," said Murray Hunt, Director of AVW.
