International Datacasting Corporation Selected by SES AMERICOM-NEW SKIES to Provide Equipment for its Global Internet Trunking Solution

Attn: Business/High-Tech Editors

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 12, 2009) - International Datacasting Corporation, (TSX:IDC), a global leader in providing advanced solutions for the distribution of broadband multimedia content via satellite, announced today that IDC has been selected by SES AMERICOM-NEW SKIES to provide equipment to customers who will be upgrading to DVB-S2 platform offerings via its IPsys IP trunking service. The initial order from SES AMERICOM-NEW SKIES is for 200 of IDC's SuperFlex SFX 3102 DVB-S/S2 receivers. The value of the order was not released for competitive reasons.

Over the last 9 years IPsys® platforms have allowed service providers anywhere in the world to directly connect to the global internet backbone via SES satellites and partner teleport facilities. This service bypasses terrestrial connections and their associated congestion points to provide high speed Internet directly to customers even in the most remote locations.

After a thorough competition and evaluation process, SES AMERICOM-NEW SKIES selected IDC's SuperFlex SFX3102 DVB-S/S2 receiver for use when upgrading platforms to DVB-S2. The SFX3102 provides full satellite transponder bandwidth and optional Variable Coding Modulation (VCM) operation that is ideal for the cost effective and efficient transfer of large amounts of data over a global footprint or a large geographic region. The SFX3102 is part of IDC's award winning SuperFlex family of products, which are in use today for a variety of broadband multimedia applications around the world.

"We selected IDC's SFX3102 because of the company's longstanding reputation in the industry, their commitment to customer service and their continued work to develop products that deliver what their customers need," said Chris Schram, VP Platform Operations of SES AMERICOM-NEW SKIES. "We put the product through its paces with both lab and over the air satellite testing, and we are very satisfied that it will enhance our IPsys IP trunking applications anywhere in the world", he added.

"We are very pleased to have been selected by SES AMERICOM-NEW SKIES for this Internet application" said Ron Clifton, President and CEO of IDC. "Our SuperFlex DVB-S/S2 product line is designed specifically for ease of integration with terrestrial IP networks. DVB-S2 operation provides the high speed and bandwidth efficient operation needed to make this data application cost effective" he added.
