International Datacasting Wins Contract to Modernize Broadcast Network for CBS-Westwood One

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 30, 2007) - International Datacasting Corporation (TSX:IDC) announced today that it has received a major order from its customer CBS-Westwood One to overhaul and modernize the broadcaster's radio network using IDC's SuperFlex Pro Audio suite of products including its Datacast XD Content Management and Delivery system. The contract value was not disclosed at this time.

Westwood One is the US's largest radio network, producing and distributing national news, sports, talk, music and special event programs, in addition to local news, sports, weather, video news and other information programming. It supplies radio and television stations with information services and programming as well as being the largest domestic outsource provider of traffic reporting services.

This new contract represents an expansion of the major-market sports broadcasting network IDC installed in 2005 for Westwood One which enabled-for the first time-ad insertion on a regional basis during live sporting events. The leader in play-by-play sports broadcasts on radio, Westwood One's sports lineup also includes regular season NFL football, the Playoffs and the Super Bowl; Notre Dame Football; NCAA Football and Basketball including the Final Four; College World Series; Frozen Four; NHL Hockey and the Stanley Cup Finals; the Olympics; Masters and more. The ability to do regional insertion or "copy-splitting" gives Westwood One the unprecedented ability to provide advertisers to target specific markets in their national advertising.

Building on the current live sports network, this expansion will provide that functionality and more to 2,000 sites as well as consolidating various services (currently provided by parallel infrastructures or outsourced) into a single, streamlined network. This move replaces an older, obsolete infrastructure and not only will it dramatically reduce costs and increase revenues-it also improves quality for the listener.

Conrad Trautmann, Westwood One Senior VP of Engineering and Broadcasting said, "IDC is certainly a good fit for our next-generation content distribution network, especially considering their experience in Internet Protocol (IP) transmission over satellite and IP terrestrial distribution. They have great working relationships with companies like National Public Radio, Vyvx, SES Americom, Reuters and Best Buy and we will benefit from that vast knowledge and experience. In addition, the new platform will position our entire company, including Metro Networks, to deliver content to all digital mediums including broadcast automation systems, cellular phone providers and more. I'm excited that we'll be deploying our new radio network system using AAC as the transport algorithm which will improve the sound quality of our programming for our affiliates. This is truly a giant step forward for Westwood One."

Ron Clifton, President and CEO of IDC added, "We are extremely proud that Westwood One decided to proceed with the expansion. Their vision of using IP-based technology to drive newly integrated services and enable new business models is an exciting one. This will be one of the most advanced radio networks in the world and a major step towards the convergence that industry experts have been heralding."

Deployment of the new system is scheduled to take place over the next three to four months.
