International DME Association Names Oberon Fuels President Rebecca Boudreaux as New Chair

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 3, 2015) - Oberon Fuels, Inc. today announced that its president, Rebecca Boudreaux, Ph.D. has been named Chair of the International DME Association (IDA).

The IDA represents the interests of the international DME (Dimethyl Ether) fuel industry, and its members -- stakeholders involved in the production, distribution, and use of DME for fuel applications, and in the research and development of technologies related to its use -- are involved in important initiatives that are laying the foundations for DME's introduction as a fuel in major markets worldwide.

"The association is delighted to have Rebecca take on this important role at such a dynamic time for our industry," said Christopher Kidder, executive director of the IDA. "During the past few years Rebecca Boudreaux and Oberon Fuels have made substantial contributions to the introduction of DME as a fuel. Her leadership on the creation of an ASTM specification, the EPA's qualification of the fuel for high-value RINs credits, and California's approval of DME's use as a vehicle fuel are just a few examples of this progress."

At Oberon, Dr. Boudreaux leads the customer development and strategic partnering efforts with OEMs, feedstock suppliers, and trucking companies. She joined Oberon Fuels as President in 2011 after successful experiences as an entrepreneur and consultant.

"It is an honor for me, and a reflection of the strength of team at Oberon, to be named Chair of the IDA," said Dr. Boudreaux. "DME has a bright future as a low carbon fuel that can be sourced and consumed across the globe, and I look forward to working with Chris and the members of IDA to make this vision a reality."

Dr. Boudreaux has a broad range of academic and industrial experience, having performed research at MIT, Princeton University, University of Southern Mississippi, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and National Starch and Chemical. In 2004, she co-founded Intezyne Technologies which developed polymer-based drug delivery systems to make existing cancer drugs works better, serving as CFO for four years and as a member of the company's Board of Directors.

Dr. Boudreaux earned a B.S. in Polymer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

About Oberon Fuels
California-based Oberon Fuels monetizes biogas and industrial waste streams by converting such feedstock into higher valued commodities. Using its proprietary small-scale process, Oberon makes DME, a clean-burning diesel replacement, and methanol from methane and carbon dioxide. In 2013, Oberon Fuels' pilot plant in Brawley, California produced the first fuel-grade DME in North America, which is currently being used by Volvo Trucks, a division of The Volvo Group, in its commercial demonstrations of DME-powered, heavy-duty trucks. As Oberon recently announced, the company has also partnered with Ford and FVV to build the world's first DME-powered passenger car for on-road testing.
