International Forest Products Limited: Canadian Transportation Agency Denies Helifor Canada Application for Licence to Operate a Domestic Service, Small Aircraft

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 10, 2006) - International Forest Products Limited ("Interfor") (TSX:IFP.SV.A) announced today that it has been informed the Canadian Transportation Agency ("CTA") has rejected the application of Helifor Canada Corp. for a licence to operate a domestic service, small aircraft. Approval of the application was a condition to the closing of the sale of Helifor Industries Limited's assets to Helifor Canada Corp., previously announced February 10, 2006. Helifor Industries Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Interfor. Interfor will consult with Helifor Canada Corp. and determine an appropriate course of action. In the meantime, Helifor Industries Limited will maintain operations in the normal course.

Interfor is one of the Pacific Northwest's largest producers of quality wood products. The Company has operations in British Columbia, Washington and Oregon including three sawmills in the Coastal region of British Columbia, one in the B.C. Interior, one in Washington and two in Oregon. In addition, Interfor operates value-added manufacturing and specialty products facilities in B.C. and Washington.
