International R&D Management Conference Takes Stage in Ottawa

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 13, 2008) - The international R&D Management Conference makes its debut in North America when the 31st event in the series is held next week at the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. The theme of the conference is "Emerging and New Approaches in R&D Management".

Among research managers and policy makers, technology foresight is a huge issue - predicting the unknown and managing the unpredictable. This topic will be explored through sessions on technology scanning and road mapping.

Other areas addressed include: the impact of increasing globalization, including role of emerging economies, off shoring, managing R&D that crosses borders and disciplines, as well as the intersection between public and private sector R&D.

The R&D Conference gets underway Tuesday, June 17th and continues for the week. 200 delegates from 31 countries. Keynote speakers:
