SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Mar 4, 2013) - Every year the San Diego Latino Film Festival (SDLFF) attracts amazing actors and filmmakers and this year's 20th Anniversary is no exception. The San Diego Latino Film Festival is honored to announce the celebrity guests and up and coming actors and filmmakers in attendance this year.
The festival kicks off on Thursday March 7th with the highly regarded film Filly Brown and Sundance breakout star Gina Rodriguez. Gina Rodriguez was named the "next big thing" and one of the hottest young Latinos in entertainment by The Hollywood Reporter. Gina Rodriguez and other cast members will party with guests at the opening Gala on March 7th at Cafe Sevilla.
International film and television star Kate Del Castillo will be in attendance on March 8th with two festival films, K-11 and Colosio. Kate Del Castillo is one of the most popular and acclaimed actresses in Mexico. She is known for portraying strong characters and her appearance in K-11 will not disappoint.
Mexican star Martha Higareda will also be in attendance March 8th with the film Mariachi Gringo. Despite her young age Martha Higareda is already considered one of the top Mexican actresses. The SDLFF is honored to have acclaimed and award winning directors Luis Mandoki and Gregory Nava in attendance for its 20th anniversary. Luis Mandoki is bringing his latest film La Vida Precoz y Breve de Sabina Rivas on March 15th. The SDLFF will present a special drive-in screening of Selena with San Diego native Gregory Nava March 14th. Luna Escondida will close the festival with Mexican star Ana Seradilla on Sunday March 17th. Ana Seradilla will be among the many celebrity guests celebrating the conclusion of the festival at the Closing Gala on March 16th at the Air and Space Museum at historic Balboa Park.
