International Top Model: River Rock Resort ITM Model Look North America 2006

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 7, 2006) - The River Rock Resort ITM Model Look North America 2006 will be jointly presented by Vancouver and China to give aspiring models the opportunity to be a part of the international modeling industry.

Announcing details of the Model Look at a news conference today, James Ho, President of ITM International Top Model Corp., a Vancouver-based company, said, "We have decided to organize this event with China's New Silk Road Company, China's Travel Channel, Vancouver's Mainstream Broadcasting Corporation CHMB AM1320 and SINA.COM Technology (China) Co. Ltd. as we see a growing demand for foreign faces in modeling in China as a result of the growth of Asia's fashion industry."

New Silk Road Company is the largest and most prestigious modeling company in China. The Travel Channel is one of the most popular television stations in China, broadcasting 24 hours a day to over 300 million viewers. Sina is one of China's largest and most reputable websites, with over 100 million registered users. Both Travel Channel and Sina will be broadcasting the River Rock Resort ITM Model Look North America 2006 in China.

Chinese Consul-General Tian Chunyan congratulated the organizers on hosting this first of its kind model search in Vancouver. "The organizers from China - New Silk Road Company, Travel Channel and Sina are regarded as one of the best in their industries," said Consul-General Tian. "The River Rock Resort ITM Model Look North America 2006 will help promote the fashion and tourism industries in both China and Canada."

This year, River Rock Resort ITM Model Look North America will be held in Vancouver, Canada from June 25th to June 29th. Building from the success of last year's Model Look, this year's multi-day event will feature workshops, photo-shoots, interviews and finally, an extravagant Finale show on June 29th at the River Rock Theatre where the winners will be picked. The Finale show will be a showcase of local talents, models, designers and performers. At least three lucky winners will be flown to China to compete in New Silk Road Model Look contests.

ITM is now accepting applications for this year's contest and the deadline for applying is May 31, 2006. ITM is looking for ladies between the ages of 16 and 25, who are passionate about the fashion industry and who aspire to become a top international model. Our winners did extremely well in China: Nishga was one of the top ten finalists at NSR Model Look International, and Sisi received the second runners-up award at NSR Model Look China.

New Silk Road Model Look

Each year, NSR plays host to two major modeling contests in China. In its 14th year running, New Silk Road Model Look China is the largest, most prestigious model search of its kind in China, selecting new male and female faces who are ready to take on the model industry by storm. Thousands of hopeful models sign up each year at regional events held all over the country. Winners from each of China's regional events compete in the national final. This 8-day event is a career-building experience for aspiring models as contestants develop trade skills from industry professionals.

For the fourth consecutive year, New Silk Road Model Look International, the only one of its kind in China, seeks to create an international network of agencies and models from around the world, providing agencies and models with the opportunities to explore the Asian market. In 2005, New Silk Road Model Look International was held in the beautiful city of Wuxi, also known as "Little Shanghai". The contest featured 57 contestants from over 40 different countries. The extravaganza captured an audience of over 200 million viewers, and was covered by 52 publications and 16 television stations.

In 2003, New Silk Road Company helped organize the Miss World contest in Sanya, China with phenomenal success. Due to its success, Miss World contest has returned to Sanya in 2004 and 2005.

As an icon in China's fashion industry, NSR attracts enormous media attention with each of their events. During both the New Silk Road Model Look China and International's 2-week event period, over 200 television stations, newspapers, radio stations, magazines and websites reported the events. Mainstream Broadcasting Corporation CHMB AM1320 is a British Columbia media company owned and operated by local Vancouver resident and businessman, James Ho. Mainstream began its broadcasting service in 1973 as Overseas Chinese Voice (OCV). In 1993, OCV programming was incorporated into the multicultural AM radio station of CHMB AM 1320, serving the needs of Vancouver's multicultural community.
