The primary goals of the redesign were to make the vast amount of content on the INTA site more easily accessible and to provide each user with a valuable experience. The site was designed to reflect the international scope and diversity of INTA and its membership. There are now three main sections of the site: Information & Publishing, Education & Training and Policy Development & Advocacy.

"The new website was designed to reflect how the INTA membership views the Association, and the 2004 Membership Survey was very helpful, as was input from INTA's Membership Services Committee," says Daryl G. Grecich, INTA director of marketing and communications.

To improve the navigation and organization of the site, INTA made most content available within three clicks of the mouse so that users no longer have to search through pages of information to find what they need. INTA's separate Members Only Site was eliminated, and now the content accessible only to members can be viewed throughout the site, once a member supplies their username and password. This will make navigation easier and will give INTA members a broader exposure to all INTA's resources and to the outstanding work of its volunteers.

The redesign of the website began in April 2005 and spanned ten months of work by INTA's staff and member volunteers who represented INTA's community around the world.
