Internet Is the New TV Says Wi-Fi TV and Shows Could Be Watched Without Local Stations or Cable

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - February 20, 2008) - Wi-Fi TV Inc. (PINKSHEETS: WTVN) today commented on breaking news stories regarding Internet TV and the future of TV delivery. Wi-Fi TV is the creator of Social Internet TV™, which can be seen at www.Wi-FiTV.com, as well as the individual station URLs www.Wi-FiCars.com, www.Wi-FiGreen.com, www.AllGolfTV.com and www.WineNationTV.com.

"Internet is the new TV," states a USTelecom Daily lead headline in a February 18 story that states, "Sony, Sharp and Panasonic are among the consumer-electronics manufacturers trying to bridge the Internet-TV gap by developing next-generation gadgets that allow consumers to hook up their TVs to the Web."

In the story, Randy Waynick, senior vice president of marketing for Sony Electronics, said: "An Internet connection gives consumers the opportunity to define the experience they want on their TVs. This is TV at your schedule."

A Los Angeles Times Business section story on February 18 states in a sub-headline, "As more content is put online and broadband improves, shows could be watched without local stations or cable." L.A. Times staff writers Alex Pham and Dawn C. Chmielewski report, "Buyers of this year's most advanced televisions might notice a curious new feature -- a little jack that connects the sets directly to the Internet."

"For now, the capabilities are modest... But the Web connections could eventually upend the way TV programs have been distributed for decades. The goal is to one day replace every set-top device -- cable boxes, TiVos, media center computers, stereos and game consoles -- so all you need is a TV set that does it all, via the Internet," states the story.

"Cable is a far superior technology when it comes to letting you watch what you want, when you want, on your TV," said Kevin Leddy, senior vice president of the advanced technology group at Time Warner Cable, in the Los Angeles Times story.

However, Wi-Fi TV Inc. Chairman and Founder Alex Kanakaris is challenging Mr. Leddy or any cable or satellite TV executive to a live debate on Wi-Fi TV to discuss the merits of Cable TV versus Satellite TV versus Wi-Fi TV (to participate in a debate, send an email to info@wi-fitv.com, debate will appear live at www.Wi-FiTV.com and will be archived for future viewing).

"Having recently visited Beijing, and being involved in the earliest days of video over the Internet in the United States and abroad, it is clear that the Internet holds the key to the kind of experience young people demand in order for TV to continue as a leading form of entertainment," stated Mr. Kanakaris.

"Of course, major players from all aspects of entertainment will undoubtedly play a role in this evolution, and it is the goal of Wi-Fi TV to position itself to not only gain market share independently, but to eventually find one or more partners from traditional media to reach our goals," he added.
