Intersil Appoints Masayuki Wajima Vice President, Japan Sales

Industry Veteran Joins Intersil From National Semiconductor

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 4, 2011) - Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analog, mixed signal and power management semiconductors, today announced the appointment of Masayuki Wajima to the position of Vice President, Japan Sales. As a 26-year veteran of sales and management for technology companies, Mr. Wajima will be responsible for driving all aspects of Intersil's success in Japan, including strengthening key customer relationships, rapidly growing revenues, increasing market penetration and expanding Intersil's brand recognition.

Prior to joining Intersil, Mr. Wajima served as President of National Semiconductor Japan, and Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for National Semiconductor. Before his tenure at National Semiconductor, Mr. Wajima held various executive positions at Conexant, including an executive sales position, President of Conexant Japan in Tokyo. Prior to these roles, he held design engineering and sales and marketing management roles at Hitachi, Ltd.

Located at Intersil's corporate office in Tokyo, Japan, Mr. Wajima will be Intersil's top sales executive in Japan. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Meiji University in Japan and a Master of Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University.
