Intersil Holds 4th Annual Engineering Conference

Industry Luminary, Dr. Aart de Geus, Co-Founder, CEO and Chairman of Synopsys Announced as Keynote Speaker

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - December 6, 2010) - Intersil Corporation (NASDAQ: ISIL) will hold its annual Intersil Engineering Conference (IEC) December 7-9 at the company's headquarters in Milpitas, California. The conference, which has been held annually since 2007, allows Intersil engineers company-wide to convene and share knowledge, best practices and technology breakthroughs. The IEC helps Intersil foster communication and collaboration within the company's engineering community by bringing together Intersil engineers from around the world and providing them with opportunities for face-to-face meetings.

The 2010 IEC provides the Intersil technical community with the opportunity to hear over 35 papers that will be presented on a variety of engineering-related topics, a symposium on design tools as well as a panel discussion on product development methodology.

This year's conference welcomes industry luminary, Dr. Aart de Geus, co-founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Synopsys as Keynote speaker.

Since co-founding Synopsys in 1986, Dr. Aart de Geus has expanded Synopsys from a start-up synthesis enterprise to a world leader in electronic design automation (EDA). With 25 published papers and numerous industry honors, Dr. Aart de Geus is considered one of the world's foremost experts on logic simulation and logic synthesis.

In the 24 years he's been at the helm of Synopsys, Aart has received numerous awards for his leadership in the semiconductor industry, including:

In 2007, he received the Silicon Valley Leadership Group "Spirit of the Valley" Lifetime Achievement Award.

Passionate regarding education for the next generation, in 1999 Aart created the Synopsys Outreach Foundation which promotes project-based science and math learning throughout Silicon Valley. In keeping with his continuing commitment to the health of the ecosystem, he currently serves on the following Boards:
