Intertape Polymer Group(R) Announces Listing on the Cool Roof Rating Council

MONTREAL, QUEBEC and BRADENTON, FLORIDA--(Marketwire - Sept. 5, 2012) - Intertape Polymer Group Inc. ® ("Intertape", "IPG" or the "Company") (TSX:ITP), a global leader in developing, manufacturing and marketing innovative polyolefin coating technologies announces the listing of the NovaShield® 400 series (FRU88X-6 white and RU88X-6 white) on the rated products directory of the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC).

The CRRC is a non-profit educational institution that is committed to providing accurate and credible methods for evaluating and labeling the solar reflectance and thermal emittance (radiative properties) of roofing products and communicating the information to interested parties in their rated products directory. The State of California selected the CRRC as the sole entity tasked with evaluating the radiative properties of roofing materials under efficiency code Title 24. The NovaShield® 400 series was tested to the specifications of the CRRC-1 ANSI standard and the product meets Title 24 of the California Cool Roof requirements.

"Designers, builders, architects, owners and other key stakeholders are showing an increased interest in the radiative properties of roofing systems," says Paul Ecclestone, Product Manager. "Having the NovaShield® 400 series listed on the CRRC represents a significant advantage for IPG® because people know that they can access reliable test results through a trusted rating council. This ensures information is more accessible for interested parties and gives piece-of-mind because all test results are conducted by a third party CRRC accredited laboratory. Having the NovaShield® 400 series listed on the site helps people make informed decisions that will meet all the technical requirements of a build, and also ensure that environmentally friendly building choices are made."

The NovaShield® 400 Series comprises both the FRU88X-6 for flame retardant applications and the RU88X-6 for traditional applications. The 12oz/yd² (407g/m²) structure membrane fabric utilizes a patented weave that produces an impressive strength-to-weight ratio and its lighter weight makes for easier, faster, money-saving installations. The NovaShield® 400 series features excellent physical properties and wider widths than comparable products, and is backed by an industry leading 10 year limited warranty.
