inthinc Extends Telematics Agreement With Global Oil and Gas Leader

inthinc waySmart Selected to Optimize Fleet Management Efficiency and Driver Safety

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - Aug 30, 2011) - inthinc Technology Solutions Inc., a global telematics company dedicated to fleet management and driver safety solutions, today announced that Schlumberger, one of the world's largest oilfield service companies, has renewed its exclusive relationship with inthinc for another three years.

The inthinc waySmart™ system is used widely across the Oil & Gas industry providing a full suite of telematics applications, including an electronic on-board recorder (EOBR), tri-mode communication and inthinc's proprietary driver safety system.

Working with the largest oil and gas companies around the world for more than a decade, inthinc has proven experience meeting the industry's unique needs. The capabilities inthinc's technology provides include MPG and idle time tracking, trip reports, IFTA tax reporting and other functionality enabling compliance with federal regulations for commercial vehicles.

Additionally, inthinc helps organizations comply with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) rule -- taking effect in 2012 -- requiring interstate vehicles to use electronic hours-of-service (HOS) driver logs. The inthinc EOBR enables companies to automatically track drivers' hours behind the wheel, ensuring accurate time-keeping while reducing the paperwork for drivers and management.

All of the data collected by waySmart -- electronic driver logs, vehicle utilization, driver behavior, etc. -- is all managed through the inthincPortal™. The portal is a web-based management tool that allows fleet managers to monitor real-time driver performance and vehicle utilization by consolidating data transmitted wirelessly from in-cab inthinc devices.

"We consider Schlumberger a long-time partner in leading the charge to establish the standard in fleet risk management," said Todd Follmer, CEO, inthinc Technology Solutions. "Our common objectives to improve driver safety, reduce vehicle operational costs and comply with federal guidelines will continue to drive exponential benefit to their organization and the oil and gas industry as a whole."
