INTO Colorado State University Launches New Program, Meets International Student Enrollment Expectations

FORT COLLINS, CO--(Marketwire - Aug 21, 2012) - INTO Colorado State University has met its aggressive international student enrollment expectations of 350 students for its inaugural Fall 2012 intake. INTO University Partnerships (INTO) and Colorado State University (CSU) launched their joint venture partnership, INTO Colorado State University (INTO CSU) in February 2012. The partnership is INTO's third in the United States.

"Thanks to our partnership with INTO, we are pleased to welcome a fine cohort of new students from around the globe to the CSU campus this fall," said Colorado State President Tony Frank. "A culturally rich, internationally engaged campus provides the type of learning environment that prepares all our students to interact and succeed in a world that is increasingly complex and connected. We've always placed an emphasis on strong international partnerships in our teaching and research, and through INTO, we're able to take that commitment to a higher level."

The collaboration with INTO has reinforced Colorado State University and Fort Collins as a premier destination for international students. Through INTO's global recruiting network, the public/private partnership is enhancing the University's ability to attract, prepare and inspire undergraduate and graduate students from all over the world.

"While the efforts of CSU and INTO will provide greater opportunities for students from around the world to study at one of the top research universities in the United States, it will also be a huge benefit to our domestic students by giving them even more mind-opening connections with people from around the globe right here on our Fort Collins campus," said Colorado State Provost and Executive Vice President Rick Miranda.

INTO CSU provides international students with a personalized and highly supportive learning environment in which to acclimatize to life on a U.S. university campus and prepare for long-term academic success. Academic "Pathway" programs and English language courses are university-designed and delivered to address international students' unique needs. While enrolled in an INTO CSU program, students also have full access to the university's campus facilities, resources and services.

"CSU and INTO share the same commitment, which is to invest in and focus on the student experience as well as create opportunities for international students to pursue their higher education goals in the U.S.," said David Stremba, Managing Director of INTO University Partnerships in North America. "INTO is extremely proud to be partnered with a world-class, research university focused on delivering an outstanding experience to all of its students, international and domestic alike."

The INTO CSU center will be led by John Didier, who was appointed Center Director in July. Didier spent the past five years as Associate Dean in CSU's College of Liberal Arts, and for 13 years was a member of the University's history department, specializing in Asian history and Chinese intellectual history. Said Didier, "This program will greatly benefit CSU and I'm confident it will enhance the educational experience not only for our students, but for faculty and staff as well."
