Intrinsyc and WebIS Announce Mobile Email for Soleus-Based Feature Phones

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA--(CCNMatthews - April 5, 2006) -

POP3/IMAP4 email functionality pre-integrated for Soleus

CTIA Wireless 2006 - Intrinsyc Software International, Inc., (TSX:ICS) a leader in providing winning mobility software and services, together with Web Information Solutions, Inc. today announce that the WebIS POP3/IMAP4 email client has been successfully pre-integrated into Intrinsyc's Soleus™ product. The Soleus product is a turnkey feature phone software platform that leverages Microsoft® Windows™ CE to enable faster and lower-cost handset development. WebIS worked with Intrinsyc to pre-integrate its mobile email client with Soleus, opening the possibility that POP3/IMAP4 email functionality may be available to manufacturers of Soleus-based feature phones.

Soleus offers a new way to develop feature phones, allowing network operators and mobile phone manufacturers complete flexibility to build phones and customize them for target customer segments. At the heart of Soleus is a rich set of built-in feature phone applications including calendar, camera, contacts, dialer, file manager, media player, and phone settings that can be quickly tailored to reduce time to market of the end product. In addition to these built-in applications, Intrinsyc partners with a select set of third-party independent software vendors that build best-of-breed mobile phone applications, to optimise them for use in Soleus-based phones and reduce development time for getting new devices to market.

Under the terms of its Memorandum of Understanding with WebIS, Intrinsyc has pre-integrated WebIS' POP3/IMAP4 email client into the Soleus software development kit (SDK). This will allow Soleus licensees to evaluate the technology, test it for use with its in-house technologies and ultimately select it for use in a phone handset. The WebIS POP3/IMAP4 email client allows feature phone users to receive and respond to emails via their POP3/IMAP4 SMTP accounts and connect to almost any email provider using SSL, configurable message downloading options, and user defined message folders.

"WebIS is very pleased to have pre-integrated our POP3/IMAP4 email client with Soleus and to have that technology be a ready-made component for Soleus licensees that require mobile email capabilities in their feature phones," said Alex Kac, CEO, WebIS, Inc. "As more people lead the mobile lifestyle, they are using their phones to check email and type replies while on the go. Like Intrinsyc, WebIS recognises the huge market opportunity for feature phones and looks forward to being involved with the first Soleus handset designs."

"Intrinsyc is delighted to be working with WebIS and together we have ported their POP3/IMAP4 mobile email client to the Soleus platform," said Randy Kath, VP Mobile Software Products, Intrinsyc. "As Soleus licensees begin to select their feature phone software components, Intrinsyc looks forwards to working with WebIS to bring great phones with POP3/IMAP4 email access to market in the near future."

Intrinsyc is exhibiting today and throughout CTIA Wireless 2006 in booth #5374. Soleus-based feature phone reference designs and handsets are on display and delegates have the opportunity to interactively design phone user interfaces using the Soleus UX Designer.
