Intrinsyc Delivers Windows CE Development for Road Angel Group's Portfolio of Driver Safety & Navigation Devices

Intrinsyc enables reduced development time, costs and risk of cutting-edge satellite navigation devices with its expert Windows CE embedded development

THE EMBEDDED SYSTEMS SHOW, BIRMINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 11, 2006) - Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS) a mobility software and services company, and Road Angel Group Ltd., a leading manufacturer of cutting-edge GPS devices, today announce the successful completion of a development project. As the systems integrator, Intrinsyc delivered Microsoft® Windows® CE 5.0 development and design services for the new Road Angel Navigator 6000 and 7000 products, as well as for the complete Road Angel Navigator product line. The Road Angel Navigator series, a complete line of satellite navigation devices for in-car use, is based on the Windows CE operating system. Through applying its expert Windows embedded software development skills, Intrinsyc was able to reduce the Road Angel Navigator product line's timescale and ensure a more cost-effective and flexible delivery path.

Road Angel selected Intrinsyc for its unique experience and proven capabilities of applying embedded Windows CE technology in wireless solutions, design and development services, mobile phones, and wireless handheld products. The Windows CE platform is designed to be a small footprint, componentized, real-time operating system that runs on multiple processor architectures enabling developers to cost effectively create compelling devices and applications. As part of the Road Angel project, Intrinsyc provided a range of embedded design services, including hardware and software development and project development activities, that helped Road Angel facilitate the quick integration of the Navigator 6000/7000's many advanced features.

Steve Salmon, chief executive, Road Angel, said, "We are delighted by how quickly Intrinsyc helped us develop the Road Angel Navigator 6000/7000 driver safety systems and effectively leverage the benefits of its underlying Windows CE software platform. Speed to market is an essential part of Road Angel's market strategy and therefore timely development of robust solutions is essential. Intrinsyc's Windows CE embedded design and development expertise was key in reducing our project timescale for the Navigator 6000/7000 and as a result we are looking forward to working with them to enable more flexibility in building the next generation of Road Angel Navigator devices."

"The Road Angel Navigator 6000/7000 is a great example of a highly-featured and affordable Windows CE operating system based consumer device, and Intrinsyc's embedded Windows CE expertise helped lower the overall project's development costs and risks," said Manoj Rami, senior marketing manager, Microsoft's Mobile & Embedded Devices Division. "We named Intrinsyc a Microsoft Windows Embedded Gold Partner due to their extensive experience of designing, developing and supporting wireless devices built on Microsoft's Windows CE and believe they are the best Systems Integrator to work with us and Road Angel to build a really compelling series of Road Angel Navigator devices."

"Working with Road Angel and Microsoft on this innovative series of satellite navigation devices has allowed us to demonstrate our expert Windows CE development skills," said David Manuel, EVP, Engineering Services Group, Intrinsyc. "This successful application of our proven Windows CE development and design capabilities is a good example of how we work closely with our customers to ensure all of a project's delivery demands are met at a high quality. Our expert development skills are also reflected in our new Soleus™ software platform launched earlier this year. As the world's first Microsoft Windows CE based software platform for the mid-range mobile handset market, Soleus helps licensees build great mobile devices leveraging the benefits of the Windows CE platform."

The Road Angel Navigator 6000/7000 is a complete satellite navigation device for in-car use that combines full UK street mapping with Road Angel, the leading safety camera and accident alert system.
