Intrinsyc's Soleus to Include T9 Text Input Software

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA--(CCNMatthews - April 5, 2006) - Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS) -

Soleus-based feature phones to provide faster and easier text entry experience

CTIA Wireless 2006 - Intrinsyc Software International, Inc., an industry leader in providing winning mobility software and services, today announces that Soleus™ includes T9® Text Input software from AOL's Tegic. Intrinsyc's Soleus is a turnkey feature phone software platform that leverages Microsoft® Windows™ CE to enable faster and lower-cost handset development. Tegic's industry-leading T9 Text Input software has been fully integrated by Intrinsyc into the Soleus platform, offering a certified predictive text solution to manufacturers building Soleus-based feature phones.

T9 Text Input is the most widely used alphabet-based, Chinese, Japanese and Korean character-based text input software for mobile phones available today. Intrinsyc worked closely with Tegic to make T9 Text Input a key component of the Soleus software development kit (SDK), allowing potential Soleus licensees to evaluate the technology, test it for use with its in-house technologies and ultimately select it for use in a phone handset. By incorporating T9 Text Input in a Soleus-based handset, users will be able to enter words and phrases with just one key press per letter when typing SMS and mobile email messages.

For mobile phone manufacturers, Soleus offers a faster and lower cost method for building feature phones through testing and pre-integrating third party software in the platform, as well as providing all the essential mobile phone applications to make a complete, turnkey development solution. By building on the Windows CE core of Soleus and using its Microsoft Visual Studio development environment, creating software is more familiar and the phone building process simpler - ultimately reducing the time to market of the end product and lowering development costs. For third party software developers creating feature phone applications, this provides an opportunity to optimize their applications for Soleus with very little incremental work, resulting in less work to reach more handsets.

"We are very pleased to have been selected by Intrinsyc to supply T9, our industry-leading predictive text input, for use with Soleus-based feature phones," said Eric Collins, Vice President, Tegic Communications. "SMS text messaging and mobile instant messaging are extremely popular with feature phone users worldwide, and as Soleus-based phones start to come to market we look forward to working with Intrinsyc and their licensees to speed text input on the handsets."

"T9 is a very compelling feature phone product application and one of the most widely used pieces of mobile software in the world," said Randy Kath, VP Mobile Software Products, Intrinsyc. "We are delighted to be working with Tegic and to be offering T9 as part of Soleus to our future licensees. This partnership reflects the Soleus goal of pre-integrating all the best-of-breed mobile software applications, making it easier and faster for device makers to build feature phones with market-leading technology already integrated."

Intrinsyc is exhibiting today and throughout CTIA Wireless 2006 in booth #5374. Soleus-based feature phone reference designs and handsets are on display and delegates have the opportunity to interactively design phone user interfaces using the Soleus UX Designer.
