Introducing AquaChef®: A Revolutionary Appliance for Home Cooks

VISTA, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 29, 2012) - The AquaChef® Professional Water Oven by KitchenAdvance will be introduced at the 2012 International Home + Housewares Show, booth # L12464, March 10-13 in Chicago. This innovative appliance makes it easy for home cooks to prepare tender and mouthwatering meats, fish, and other food precisely with maximum nutrient retention.

KitchenAdvance is proud to present the AquaChef to industry insiders at the 2012 International Home + Housewares Show. Attendees will get a firsthand look at the compact appliance's unique features and benefits including one-touch operation for accurate temperature control, its energy efficient and resilient design, and ease of use. The AquaChef Oven comes with the Seal 'N Fresh™ Handheld Vacuum System and Seal 'N Fresh™ Vacuum Bags. With the push of a button, the Vacuum System quickly removes air -- locking in the food's natural flavors, nutrients and moisture. Approximate retail value of the Aqua Chef Oven and accessories is $159.80.

"The AquaChef technique guarantees that you get moist, succulent meats and perfectly cooked meals every time," says Chef Melissa Silva, AquaChef Test Kitchen Director. "All you need to do is seal the seasoned food inside the vacuum bag, submerge in the water bath at the required temperature and walk away. Food is cooked at the finished temperature which makes it virtually impossible to overcook."

Just three simple steps ensure foolproof results for at-home cooks:

1. Season: Add fresh herbs, spices and even sliced lemon to the vacuum-sealed bag for more intense flavors and enhanced textures.
2. Set: Select desired end temperature and place the bag in the water.
3. Serve: Remove precisely-cooked food from the bag and serve.

Internal food temperatures will never exceed the temperature of the water bath and will therefore not overcook. When cooking foods such as meat and fish in the AquaChef Oven, select the desired end point internal temperature of the food. For example, if the desired internal temperature of a food is 160°F, then set the temperature on the AquaChef Oven display panel to 160°F. The water will reach this exact temperature and will bring the food to that temperature all the way through.

Based on the European sous vide cooking method, AquaChef cooks food at a precisely controlled temperature in a water bath for consistent results. Unlike conventional ovens, which rely on higher temperatures to achieve a safe internal temperature for foods such as meat or fish, the AquaChef Oven controls internal temperatures with pinpoint accuracy, ensuring food remains moist and flavorful. In addition, the water oven conducts heat more effectively than air, which saves time and energy.

Ideal for home cooks of any skill level, the AquaChef Oven is one of the most versatile compact kitchen appliances on the market today. Home cooks can tenderize tough, less expensive cuts of meat; eliminate added fats or oils; keep foods at the correct temperature until they are ready to serve; and enjoy easy cleanup. Economical, healthy, and restaurant-worthy meals are easily achievable with the AquaChef Oven.
