Introducing the Remote Roundtable: Debating From a Distance

Conference Call Specialist, Powwownow, Launches First Ever Digital Powwow to Keep Influencers Connected

LONDON--(Marketwire - Apr 20, 2011) - Progressive conference call provider Powwownow is inviting participants to join its debut Digital Powwow, a long-distance debate to explore the true perceptions of remote working.

Powwownow is looking for entrepreneurs, mumpreneurs, small business experts and young office workers, who are socially connected, but geographically detached, to bring together for a full and free discussion.

'The Great Flexi-working Debate' will be hosted via Powwownow's conference call facilities and chaired by company CEO and entrepreneur Andy Pearce.

"There's only so far you can take the conversation online, at some point it needs to come off; which is tricky when you consider family commitments and the prohibitive cost of travel," says Pearce.

"Our Digital Powwow is a way of connecting bloggers; people who might live hundreds of miles apart, but share the same loves, fight for the same causes and who through circumstance might never get the opportunity to have a proper conversation and meet on a more human level.

"The blogger meet-up works for young Londoners with few family commitments, but the Digital Powwow goes beyond Soho bars, beyond the Watford Junction and into the homes of people who share their thoughts and ideas with each other every day, without ever getting a real sense of each other's personalities."

The debut debate will focus on the practicalities, realities, difficulties and benefits of remote working over that of commuting to the office on a daily basis.

The Digital Powwow comes as part of the wider Love/Hate Travel? initiative which reaches out to time-poor commuters by encouraging the use of two central hashtags -- #lovetravel / #hatetravel -- in relation to the likes and dislikes of business travel.

The tongue-in-cheek campaign has been designed to position Powwownow as the facilitator to hassle-free, environmentally-conscious business arrangements and a smart alternative to the stresses and expenses of business travel.
