Invensys Demonstrates Upstream Simulation and Analysis Tools and Solutions

ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire - November 12, 2007) - Society of Petroleum Engineers' Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition -- Invensys Process Systems is exhibiting here this week its complete portfolio of solutions for control and optimization of upstream oil and gas industrial processes, from the wellhead to the processing plant. Solutions being demonstrated include Foxboro control systems and instrumentation, InFusion enterprise control systems, SimSci-Esscor simulation and modeling software, and Triconex ESD safety systems and turbomachinery controls.

"We offer a complete portfolio of solutions to help upstream producers build, operate and enhance their upstream operations, including performance optimization software and consulting, real-time enterprise-wide collaborative environments, and point solutions down to the field device," said John Gilmore, Invensys Process Systems upstream industry leader.

One featured Invensys solution that is designed specifically for upstream applications is SimSci-Esscor's Upstream Optimization Suite of products for Integrated Asset Model Management. This is a set of software tools that provides multiphase flow modeling, transient multi-component simulation, and strategic optimization of oil and gas production operations. These tools help integrate field-wide production analysis from sandface-to-surface facilities, increase asset-wide production, improve well design and performance, and integrate full-field reservoir modeling.

One improved Upstream Optimization Suite component is version 9.2 of PIPEPHASE multiphase flow simulation software. This has been improved through integration with the SimSci-Esscor SIM4ME Portal, which enables users to drag and drop multiphase flow model parameters such as wellhead pressures, Gas Oil Ratios, PVT data, pipeline diameters, and IPR constants, directly into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

The exhibit will also feature the complete line of Foxboro instruments used in oil and gas industry production, including wellhead automation, remote monitoring, net oil computing, plunger lift optimization, and measurement of multiphase flow, tank level, casing pressure, tubing pressure, and wet gas.

Invensys upstream specialists will also be presenting performance services that are relevant to building, operating or enhancing upstream operations. These include wireless network management, cyber security and alarm management services.
