Investing in Culture and Heritage in the Temiskaming Region

Government of Canada supports Temiskaming's cultural organizations


TEMISKAMING SHORES, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 14, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing a total of $42,170 in funding to two organizations in the Temiskaming region. A contribution of $37,000 was allocated through the Community Life component of the Development of Official-Language Communities Program to the Association canadienne-française de l'Ontario, région du Témiskaming, to support its 2015-16 annual programming.

The Temiskaming Art Gallery received $5,170 in support from the Museums Assistance Program to host "Canada at Play: A Hundred Years of Games, Toys and Sports - Community Outreach," a travelling exhibition from the Royal Ontario Museum.
Jay Aspin, Member of Parliament (Nipissing-Temiskaming), made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

  • The Development of Official-Language Communities Program is designed to enhance the vitality of Canada's French- and English-speaking minority communities and enable them to participate fully in all aspects of Canadian life.
