Investing in Indigenous Arts and Culture

BRANTFORD, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 15, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing $70,000 in funding to the Woodland Cultural Centre. This investment, provided through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will support the 2015 edition of the Planet IndigenUS festival.

Phil McColeman, Member of Parliament (Brant), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

Quick Facts

• Planet IndigenUs is a co-production of the Woodland Cultural Centre in Brantford and the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto.
• The 2015 edition of the festival will take place from July 31 to August 3 at various locations in Brantford, including the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts. The festival will then move to Toronto from August 4 to 9.
• The theme of the 2015 festival is "Seven Generations" and the lineup includes dance, theatre, media and visual arts, and diverse musical performances.
