Investing in the Performing Arts in Brantford

Government of Canada supports Sanderson Centre's 2015-16 Performing Arts Series


BRANTFORD, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 5, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada has provided $35,000 in funding to the City of Brantford for the annual series held at the municipally owned Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts.

Phil McColeman, Member of Parliament (Brant), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

  • The City of Brantford purchased the Sanderson Centre in 1986 and restored it to be a cultural centre for the community while preserving its architectural heritage.
  • The Sanderson Centre is home to community performing-arts organizations, amateur dance competitions and recitals, art workshops for young people, and school events.
