Investing in the Performing Arts in Dryden

Government of Canada supports the 2015-2017 Dryden Entertainment Series


DRYDEN, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 7, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing $24,000 in funding over two years to the Dryden Entertainment Series for their 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 performing arts series. The funding is provided through Canadian Heritage's Canada Arts Presentation Fund.

The Honourable Greg Rickford, Minister of Natural Resources, Minister for FedNor and Member of Parliament (Kenora), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

  • The Dryden Entertainment Series (DES) showcases performers from a range of musical genres, as well as one dance and one theatre presentation per season. The featured artists come from across Canada.
  • The DES also facilitates six artist-led workshops per year in the community's elementary and secondary schools and the Dryden Native Friendship Centre.
