Invincea First to Receive Common Criteria Certification for Advanced Endpoint Threat Protection Offering

Certification Provides Assurance That Federal Agencies and Fortune 1000 Businesses Can Rely on Invincea for National Security-Grade Protection Against Advanced Attacks

NATIONAL HARBOR, MD--(Marketwired - Jun 8, 2015) - Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit -- Invincea, Inc., the leader in advanced endpoint threat protection, today announced it has become the first and only company to receive Common Criteria certification for an advanced endpoint threat protection offering. The company received this certification for its core products: Invincea Endpoint (formerly Invincea FreeSpace) and Invincea Management (formerly Invincea Management Server), now Common Criteria certified at EAL 2+. This certification resulted from an intensive year-plus testing process conducted by Computer Sciences Canada, Inc., one of the accredited Common Criteria testing laboratories.

Common Criteria IT Security Evaluation certification is required by most U.S. federal government agencies and the Department of Defense (DoD) to put into production new security technologies on the endpoint. Invincea's secure virtual container technology was certified across a range of functionality, including: preventing Web-based threats and weaponized documents from damaging the endpoint or accessing data; automatically killing suspicious endpoint processes; and providing rich forensic intelligence on attempted attacks.

"The cyber threats facing the United States, both criminal and nation-state, are more pronounced and persistent than ever," noted Rand Beers, former Acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, speaking personally. "All sectors of the economy require the most advanced technology available to combat these threats, with the assurance that products will perform effectively and reliably in mission-critical environments. Invincea's Common Criteria certification marks a significant milestone in the industry's effort to secure governments and corporations against advanced attacks and is a solid proof point in a sea of marketing claims from the security industry."

"In a market of untested assertions, the Common Criteria certification distinguishes Invincea as the first to offer an advanced endpoint threat protection solution fully tested and certified for production use," said Norm Laudermilch, Chief Operating Officer, Invincea. "It also further underscores our leadership in endpoint protection, complementing a market-leading intellectual property portfolio. This certification demonstrates Invincea's commitment to delivering the most secure and reliable products to contain, identify, and control the advanced attacks that evade legacy security controls."

The Common Criteria IT Security Evaluation certification program was established by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) to "provide assurance that the Common Criteria process of specification, implementation and evaluation of IT products has been conducted in a rigorous, standard, achievable, repeatable and testable manner at a level that is commensurate with the target environment for use."
