IODA and Notable Music Partner to Bring Popular Jamaican Soul From the 1960s and 1970s to Fans Worldwide

Agreement Brings Celebrated Music From High Note Records, Treasure Isle and More to Global Audience for First Time in High-Quality Digital Recordings

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - September 1, 2009) - IODA, a leading distributor of independent music and film, announced a partnership today with Notable Music, the legendary independent music publisher. Leading with the timeless recordings from the High Note Records and Treasure Isle labels, Notable Music will make its catalog available through IODA's network of digital retail outlets, mobile retailers and subscription services around the world. This agreement marks the first time these music catalogs will be made widely available for legal download and optimized for digital audio formats.

The music catalog from High Note Records and Treasure Isle is part of a larger partnership Notable Music holds with Jamaica-based record producer, record label owner and music publisher, Sonia Pottinger and her Push Music Jamaica publishing company. As part of the partnership with Pottinger, Notable Records will also be managing her other successful labels including Tip Top Records, Gay Feet and Glory. Under Notable Music the original master recordings in the catalog are being mined, cleaned up, and re-mastered where possible to deliver the best possible quality to Jamaican soul music fans worldwide.

"This collection charts the history of Jamaican music, including the recordings that pioneered ska, drove the formation of the rocksteady style that succeeded it and helped formulate the reggae sound that would conquer the world," said Damon Booth, Notable Music Company.

Tom DeSavia, Booth's partner at Notable, continues: "We chose to work with IODA for the technology and distribution network they have in place but also for their deep understanding of, and passion for, independent music. We look forward to working with the IODA team to release quality, legal recordings for which fans have been waiting decades."

Treasure Isle, founded by the last Jamaican music giant Arthur "Duke" Reid, and High Note were both pioneers in the Jamaican music business. Their vast catalog of classic recordings have defined and enriched reggae music since the early 1960s. The first digital releases to be made available through IODA's global network of digital retailers will be:

High Note

-- Marcia Griffiths ("Naturally"/Sonia Pottinger). This popular album
includes Griffiths' hit version of "Dreamland," "Feel Like Jumping" and
-- Sonya Spence ("In The Dark"/Sonia Pottinger). Long out of print, this
classic album is still in high demand.

Treasure Isle

-- Alton Ellis ("Mr. Soul of Jamaica"/Duke Reid)
-- The Paragons ("On The Beach"/ Duke Reid). This classic album features
such hits as the original version of "The Tide is High."
-- Collection of Artists, ("Hottest Hits Volume I"/Duke Reid)
-- The Skatalite! ("The Skatalites"/Duke Reid). This album features some
of the band's earliest works from 1963, including the number one hit "Rough
    & Tough."

In addition to releasing other recordings from High Note and Treasure Isle, Notable will pull from Pottinger's entire catalog of reggae music in the coming year as they continue to add quality music across genres to their catalog.

"Notable Music's re-release of these great historical recordings reminds us how the digital age provides the opportunity for culturally valuable and important music from the past to be preserved and revived," said Erik Gilbert, VP, Content for IODA. "We look forward to working with Notable Music to make some of the greatest Jamaican soul music that has ever been recorded available digitally for the first time. The work Notable is doing to improve the quality of the archival recordings in addition to their mining of content deep within the music vaults of the High Note and Treasure Isle labels is sure to create a stir with old and new music fans around the globe."

The partnership with Notable Music Company complements IODA's strong catalog of Jamaican soul and reggae music, which includes Gregory Isaacs, Jackie Mittoo, The Heptones, John Holt, Ken Boothe and Delroy Wilson.
