ioFABRIC Listed as a Sample Vendor in Three Gartner's Hype Cycle Reports for Storage, Infrastructure, and I&O Automation

TORONTO, ON --(Marketwired - July 26, 2016) - ioFABRIC Inc. today announced that it has been identified as a sample vendor in three recent Gartner "Hype Cycle" reports: Hype Cycle for Storage Technologies, 2016; Hype Cycle for Infrastructure Strategies, 2016; and Hype Cycle for I&O Automation, 2016.

Gartner included ioFABRIC in the Management MDS category. We believe our inclusion is based on the strength of our innovative Vicinity software-defined storage (SDS) platform that extends the life of existing storage, increases performance, reduces capital expenses, and enables organizations to add storage as needed for performance and capacity. Vicinity profiles all storage and provides the intelligence to manage it quickly and effectively, whether it be on-premises or in the cloud, delivering an immediate return on investment.

"We feel this is quite an enthusiastic validation of our approach to solving complex data storage issues and of software-defined storage as a category," said ioFABRIC CEO and Co-Founder, Steven Lamb. "Gartner is to be commended for including solutions that are transforming how data centers keep up with capacity growth, migrate data, and support new technologies and resources like flash, cloud, and containers."

"While management SDS is still largely a vision, it is a powerful notion that could revolutionize storage architectural approaches and storage consumption models over time," according to the Hype Cycle for Infrastructure Strategies. "The goal of SDS is to deliver greater business value than traditional implementations via better linkage of storage to the rest of IT, improved agility and cost optimization. This is achieved through policy management, such that automation and storage administration are simplified with less manual oversight required, which allows larger storage capacity to be managed with fewer people. Due to its hardware-agnostic nature, management SDS products are more likely to provide deep capability for data mobility between private and public clouds to enable a hybrid cloud enterprise strategy."

According to the July 2016 Hype Cycle for Storage Technologies report, "This Hype Cycle evaluates storage-related hardware and software technologies in terms of their business impact, adoption rate and maturity level to help users decide where and when to invest." The first-ever June 2016 Hype Cycle for Infrastructure Strategies "replaces the Virtualization Hype Cycle; it includes bimodal Mode 1/Mode 2 infrastructure, Internet of Things, software-defined anything, infrastructure as a service, platform as a service and container-based delivery. Infrastructure and operations leaders should expect disruptions." In the July 2016 Hype Cycle for Infrastructure and Operations (I&O), "Gartner now tracks more than 20 automation-specific technologies, many with unique sub-segments, ranging from IT task-based automation tools to strategic service-provisioning-focused solutions. Automation technologies, in general: Increase speed of workflow completion, Reduce errors, Increase reliability, Make I&O more cost-efficient."
