iomart 'Rack Pack' Blog Nominated as It Blog of the Year

GLASGOW, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Nov. 18, 2009) - iomart Hosting's Rack Pack Blog - the hosting company's irreverent take on the hosting world - has been nominated as SME IT Blog of the Year in this year's Computer Weekly Blog Awards.

This category of the annual awards aims to showcase the best official blogs from SMEs that keep customers, suppliers and the rest of the world up-to-date with a company's developments. The category also includes official product blogs.

The Rack Pack blog was created in spring 2009. Computer Weekly magazine said of the awards: 'this is our chance to shine and show how blogs can prove an effective communications channel'.

Phil Worms, director of corporate communications at iomart Hosting, said: "We are extremely honoured and proud, and somewhat surprised, to be honest, to be nominated given the sheer volume and quality of IT blogs that are online.

"We were keen to present iomart Hosting's news in a less 'corporate' and slightly more entertaining manner than you might expect from a managed hosting company, so we kept the style and tone of the blog deliberately light-hearted."

The blog also acts as the online companion to iomart Hosting's popular bimonthly newsletter - also titled the Rack Pack.
