iON Adds Top Athletes to Team iON, Announces Remote-Control PODZ and Android App

Company Demonstrates Newest Additions to Its Air Pro Line at the Dew Tour Toyota City Championships Oct. 18-21 in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 19, 2012) - iON Worldwide, a global consumer electronics company that unveiled the fully waterproof, Wi-Fi-equipped and ultra lightweight Air Pro™ line of high-definition action sports wearable video cameras earlier this year, today announced that snowboarders Eero Ettala and Eric Jackson, Olympic snowboarder Scotty Lago and freeskier Nick Goepper have signed on as new members of Team iON. These elite snow athletes will be sharing videos shot using their iON Air Pro cameras with fans and the iON Worldwide community, and some will participate in iON-sponsored events, such as the Dew Tour iON Mountain Championships, a winter action sports event that will be held Dec. 13-16 in Breckenridge, CO.

Ettala, Goepper, Jackson and Lago join BMX rider Corey Bohan, surfer Reef McIntosh, FMX rider Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg and pro rally driver Petter Solberg as the newest members of Team iON.

"We're absolutely thrilled to be working with Eero, Eric, Scotty and Nick, who are all very respected in their disciplines. These talented and fearless athletes will be shooting and sharing some amazing video footage, which we will make available at the iON website as well as all the major social media sites," said Giovanni Tomaselli, CEO, iON Worldwide.

New Remote PODZ, plus Android app
In conjunction with this week's Dew Tour City Championship festival, the company also announced a new addition to the Air Pro line -- the Remote PODZ™, which enables control of up to eight cameras, plus the availability of the iON app for Android phone.

The iON Remote PODZ joins the Wi-Fi PODZ in extending the basic capabilities of the Air Pro family of cameras. When attached to the back of the basic camera, the Remote PODZ remotely controls one to eight Air Pro cameras, adding virtually no weight or volume. It is ideal for capturing multiple angles of any action scene, such as tricks in the skate park or the view down a ski run. The Remote PODZ will be available in the US in early November at the iON online store.

The new iON Android app enables use of any Android phone to stop and start recording, change all camera shooting modes, trip the shutter for still images, check battery life, and more on any Air Pro camera equipped with the Wi-Fi PODZ. It is available immediately for free download from the Google Play site.

"Our new Remote PODZ accessory and the availability of the Android app allow us to extend the 'shoot and share' capabilities of our basic Air Pro line even further. We aim to make available the most extensive family of action sports cameras and accessories on the market, with something for everyone," explained Tomaselli.

About iON Air Pro HD
The iON Air Pro HD camera with Wi-Fi PODZ is the first action camera that lets users shoot their most exciting moments and then immediately share them with friends through the iON smartphone and tablet app. The app also acts as a powerful remote control -- allowing users to change settings and start and stop video recording on the go. In addition to high-definition video resolution, it has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity that allows users to view the action as it happens as a live stream and replay or immediately upload footage to Facebook, YouTube or email.
