iovation Appoints Authentication Veteran Tom Pak Executive Vice President of Global Sales

Pak to Help Support the Large Demand for iovation's Passwordless Security Solution

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - Jun 27, 2016) - iovation, the provider of device intelligence for authentication and fraud prevention, today announced it has appointed Tom Pak as its executive vice president of global sales. Pak has served in various executive sales and business development roles over the past two decades for publicly traded and privately held authentication, identity, security and financial services companies.

"We're at a crucial crossroads for consumers and businesses where passwords are no longer sufficient for either security or the consumer experience," said Pak. "With our device-based authentication solution and long history of helping some of the biggest retailers, financial institutions and more stop fraud, iovation is well-positioned to help improve the security posture for these organizations, and I'm excited to help them do that."

Pak will help support the increasing demand for iovation's Customer Authentication which authenticates end users with zero friction independent of passwords. Since launching in February, iovation Customer Authentication has helped the world's largest financial organizations stop account takeover and minimize friction for good users.

Pak comes to iovation from physical access control company Identiv (NASDAQ: INVE) where he was executive vice president of global sales. Prior to Identiv, Pak held executive roles at both large and midsize businesses like Bank of America, digital platform security company Irdeto, and multi-factor authentication and single sign-on company ActivIdentity (now part of HID Global Corporation).

"Tom is convinced that there is a huge opportunity for authentication solutions that are easier for users and significantly more secure. He's also personally interested in the promise of combining authentication and reputation and bridging the gap between in-person and online security, and that is exactly where iovation is headed today," said iovation's CEO and Co-Founder, Greg Pierson. "iovation's clients will reap the rewards of having a proven Silicon Valley veteran leading our charge as we expand our offerings."
