iovation CEO Greg Pierson Named Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist

Ernst & Young Recognizes Pierson for Driving Growth, Innovation and Community Involvement

PORTLAND, OR--(Marketwired - May 6, 2016) - iovation, the provider of device intelligence for authentication and fraud prevention, today announced that its CEO Greg Pierson is an Ernst & Young (EY) Entrepreneur of the Year® 2016 Award finalist in the Pacific Northwest. An independent panel of judges selected Pierson after evaluating him and iovation for innovation, financial performance, and commitment to business and the Portland, Ore. community.

"It's an honor to have been nominated, let alone be a finalist for this award," said Pierson. "All the credit for our continued success goes to the iovation team and I hope every single employee is especially proud to be recognized by one of the world's most respected business consulting companies."

In addition to iovation's financial performance and employee growth over the past three years, the judges specifically selected Pierson for:

  • Taking Calculated Risks--In 2015, Pierson had a vision to make passwords a thing of the past. Having proven itself in online fraud prevention by protecting 15 billion transactions to date, iovation extended its core services to include Customer Authentication. This solution allows consumers with "known good devices" instant passwordless access to low-risk sections of consumer accounts -- like account balances, shopping records and activity histories.

  • Unrivaled Client Service--iovation has one of the highest Net Promoter Scores (NPS), a customer loyalty metric, of all Software as a Service (SaaS) companies. The company has a NPS score of 53, while the average SaaS company is 15. iovation has also maintained a 96 percent client retention rate or greater over the last several years.

  • Community Service-- In the beginning of 2014 Pierson started a company-wide volunteer initiative that takes place at least twice a year. 2016 kicked off with the entire Portland office closing down its headquarters to volunteer with organizations such as Children's Book Bank, Oregon Food Bank, New Avenues for Youth, Village Gardens, Free Geek and P:ear Kitchen. Pierson is also a passionate fan and supporter of Self Enhancement Inc., which supports at-risk urban youth with tremendous success.

Pacific Northwest EY Entrepreneur of the Year award winners will be announced at a black-tie gala event on June 17, 2016 at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel. More details can be found here.
